  • Who’s leading this group?

Hi – That’s me! I’m Dr. B (Dr. Blythe, Dr. TwoSisters).

I’m a licensed psychologist who found Brainspotting when NOTHING was working like I needed it to with regards to Birth Trauma. NOW, I realize the value of BSP in all areas of life. I am a certified Brainspotting clinician and I am an assistant for several BSP trainings. I have found doing my own Brainspotting work has truly helped me heal my own past wounds!

Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D.

Over 16,000 therapists have been trained in BSP in the US, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.

Brainspotting functions as a neurobiological tool to support the clinical healing relationship. There is no replacement for a mature, nurturing therapeutic presence and the ability to engage another suffering human in a safe and trusting relationship where they feel heard, accepted, and understood.

Brainspotting gives us a tool, within this clinical relationship, to neurobiologically locate, focus, process, and release experiences and symptoms that are typically out of reach of the conscious mind and its cognitive and language capacity.

Brainspotting works with the deep brain and the body through its direct access to the autonomic and limbic systems within the body’s central nervous system. Brainspotting is accordingly a physiological tool/treatment, which has profound psychological, emotional, and physical consequences.

“Where we look affects how we feel”. Brainspotting makes use of this natural phenomenon through its use of relevant eye positions. This helps the Brainspotting therapist to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions. Brainspotting is also a brain-based tool to support the therapy relationship. It has been shown that Brainspotting taps into and harnesses the body’s natural self-scanning, self-healing ability. When a Brainspot is stimulated, the deep brain appears to reflexively signal the therapist that the source of the problem has been found. Brainspotting can be used to find and strengthen our natural resources and resilience. Brainspotting is designed as a therapeutic tool that can be integrated into many of the healing modalities, and can also be used for performance and creativity enhancement.
